PYGMALION'S PEDESTAL

Cozy Cottage #3
Eyesore Home Office

Over the years, this office space had become more of storage area. It was so distressing that it triggered feelings of overwhelm and anxiety for the owner, which rippled down to family members, who had to absorb the negativity.

First we decluttered, then we purged and stored all items that were no longer pertinent and were interfering with the calming aesthetic. Next, we painted the walls white to brighten up the space and repurposed all major pieces to create this tranquil home bedroom/office, which is now a sight for sore eyes!

Project Details

Painted walls white, while the queen size platform bed garbed in white linen, coordinate with an ensemble of brass sconces, and Parisian mirror to bring notes of casual elegance to this repurposed room, which now accommodates occasional guests without sacrificing style or office space.

What We Did & Why

We dismantled the oversized desk and repurposed its basic frame by adding a wooden desk-top, painting the cabinets Onyx, and adding brass hardware. The additions of a Parisian mirror from an antique shop in Lakeland, and  a modern minimalist chair, strengthen the composition of the transitional room.

Casual Elegance

A pedestal table, ceramic vase holding a whimsical array of tulips, and brass sconce compliment the light country aesthetic.
